The 200m2 quinta boasts three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lovely room with fireplace, a second living room, and a fantastic spacious kitchen with extraordinary windows. The residence is located on a beautiful two-hectare plot with several terraces and a pool, and is enclosed by the forest. It was fully renovated and partly rebuilt in 2003. At present, it is in use as a holiday home and is let out throughout the year, so you could book a stay at the quinta to discover the attractions of the house and surrounding area!
Description of the Quinta do Vale (House of the Valley)
A rural driveway through the forest leads you to the quinta, which is beautifully situated with an unencumbered view around the residence! With several terraces, there will always be a pleasant spot to enjoy both sun and shadow throughout the day. A covered terrace has been realised next to the fantastic swimming pool (6x12m), a lovely place for a siesta on a warm summer day. The terrace with its barbecue near the olive tree boasts a breath-taking view of the valley whilst enjoying a refreshing lunch or intimate dinner with friends.
Originally a farm dating from around 1900, the quinta was rebuilt with the original granite blocks combined with attractive white stucco walls. The beautifully appointed kitchen is the heart of the home and gives into the living room and the family room with fireplace, which offers the perfect ambiance to while away the evenings in spring and fall or the winter season. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the ground floor. All three bedrooms are accessible via the garden.
Location and surroundings
Welcome to authentic rural Portugal! The quinta lies amid the foothills of the Serra da Estrela nature reserve, with the highest peak of Portugal’s mainland, the Torre, 1993 metres above sea level. It is a hilly region with beautiful landscapes and impressive slopes. The area boasts wonderful hiking and horse-riding routes, where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains. The Mondego river is perfect for canoeing and there is excellent skiing in the Serra da Estrela in winter.
The countless villages exude the peaceful ambiance and authenticity of Portugal’s interior. Farmers sell regional produce, such as local wines, cheese, vegetables and fruit at the local market.
Oliveira do Hospital with its supermarkets, banks, and restaurants is some ten minutes away by car. Covas lies approximately 70 km east of Coimbra, the beautiful, ancient university city. From here, Porto and Lisbon are easily reached by train.

Stijlvolle quinta met zwembad in het groene en bosrijke plaatsje Covas, gemeente Tábua, gelegen op de uitlopers van de Serra da Estrela, op slechts twee uur rijden van de luchthaven van Porto. De quinta beschikt met een woonoppervlak van 200 m2 over 3 slaapkamers, 2 badkamers, een sfeervolle kamer met haard, een tweede zitkamer en een fantastische woonkeuken met bijzondere raampartij. De quinta ligt op een prachtig perceel van ca. 2 hectare omsloten door bossen en voorzien van meerdere terrassen en een zwembad. De quinta is in 2003 geheel gerenoveerd en deels opnieuw opgetrokken. Momenteel is de woning in gebruik als vakantiehuis en wordt gedurende het jaar ook verhuurd. Een verblijf boeken in de quinta ter oriëntatie behoort dan ook tot de mogelijkheden!
Omschrijving Quinta do Vale (Huis van de Vallei)
Via de landelijke oprijlaan door het bos bereikt u de quinta. Direct in het oog springt de prachtige ligging met vrij uitzicht rondom het huis! De diverse terrassen bieden ieder uur van de dag een aangename plek om te genieten van zowel de zon als de schaduw. Naast het schitterende zwembad (afmeting 6×12) is een overdekt terras gerealiseerd waar op een warme zomerdag heerlijk siësta gehouden kan worden. Het terras met BBQ bij de olijfboom biedt adembenemend zicht op de vallei en is een bijzonder aangename plek voor een frisse lunch of een knus diner.
De quinta, van oorsprong een boerderij, is herbouwd met de originele granietblokken, gecombineerd met sfeervol wit gestucte muren en dateert uit omstreeks 1900. De quinta beschikt over een smaakvolle woonkeuken. De keuken vormt het hart van het huis! Naast de keuken bevindt zich de woonkamer en de haardkamer voor knusse avonden in het voor- en najaar of tijdens het winterseizoen. Op de benedenverdieping bevinden zich 3 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. De drie slaapkamers zijn ook van buitenaf toegankelijk.
Ligging en omgeving
Welkom in authentiek Portugal! De quinta ligt in de uitlopers van het natuurgebied Serra da Estrela, waarvan de hoogste piek van het vasteland van Portugal, de “Torre”, 1993 meter hoog meet. Het is een heuvelachtige streek met prachtige landschappen en indrukwekkend steile hellingen, waar men kan genieten van de rust en stilte van de bergen. Het gebied leent zich goed voor wandelingen maar ook zeker voor paardrijden. In de Mondego wordt vaak gekanood en er kan gedurende het winterseizoen in de Serra da Estrela worden geskied..
Vele authentieke dorpjes ademen de rust en authenticiteit van de binnenlanden van Portugal. Op lokale markten worden streekproducten als lokale wijnen, kazen en groente en fruit van de boer verkocht.
Op ca. 10 minuten rijden ligt Oliveira do Hospital waar diverse supermarkten zijn, banken en restaurantjes . Covas ligt circa 70 km ten oosten van Coïmbra, de prachtige en oudste universiteitsstad. Vanaf Coïmbra is er een goede treinverbinding naar Porto en Lissabon.

Elégante quinta avec piscine dans le village verdoyant et boisé de Covas, commune de Tábua, sur les contreforts de la Serra da Estrela, à seulement deux heures de route de l’aéroport de Porto. La quinta a une surface habitable de 200 m² avec 3 chambres à coucher, 2 salles de bains, un salon confortable avec cheminée, un deuxième salon et une cuisine fantastique avec baie vitrée spéciale. La quinta se trouve sur un beau terrain d’environ 2 hectares entouré de bois et dispose de plusieurs terrasses et d’une piscine. La quinta a été entièrement rénovée en 2003 et partiellement reconstruite. Actuellement, la maison est utilisée comme maison de vacances et est également louée pendant l’année. Pour information, il est donc aussi possible de réserver un séjour dans la quinta !
Description Quinta do Vale (Maison de la Vallée)
Vous atteignez la quinta en empruntant une allée rurale à travers la forêt. Vous serez tout de suite frappé par l’emplacement magnifique avec une vue dégagée autour de la maison ! Les différentes terrasses offrent chacune un endroit agréable pour profiter du soleil et de l’ombre à chaque heure de la journée. À côté de la belle piscine (dimensions 6×12), vous trouverez une terrasse couverte où, par une chaude journée d’été, vous pouvez faire une délicieuse sieste. La terrasse avec barbecue près de l’olivier offre une vue imprenable sur la vallée et est un endroit très agréable pour un déjeuner frais ou un agréable dîner.
La quinta, à l’origine une ferme, a été reconstruite avec les blocs de granit d’origine, combinés avec de beaux murs en plâtre blanc et date d’environ 1900. La quinta a une cuisine aménagée avec goût. La cuisine constitue le cœur de la maison ! Le séjour et la pièce avec la cheminée, pour des soirées agréables au printemps et à l’automne ou en hiver, se trouvent à côté de la cuisine. Au rez-de-chaussée, il y a 3 chambres et 2 salles de bains. Les trois chambres sont également accessibles de l’extérieur.
Emplacement et environs
Bienvenue dans un Portugal authentique ! La quinta est située sur les contreforts de la réserve naturelle de la Serra da Estrela, où le sommet du Portugal continental, la « Torre », culmine à 1993 mètres. C’est une région vallonnée avec de beaux paysages et des pentes abruptes impressionnantes, où l’on peut profiter du calme et de la tranquillité des montagnes. La région se prête bien aux promenades à pied, mais aussi à l’équitation. Le fleuve Mondego permet de faire du canoë-kayak et vous pouvez skier dans la Serra da Estrela pendant la saison hivernale….
De nombreux villages authentiques respirent la paix et l’authenticité de l’arrière-pays du Portugal. Sur les marchés locaux, des produits régionaux tels que des vins, des fromages et des fruits et des légumes fermiers locaux sont vendus.
À environ 10 minutes en voiture, à Oliveira do Hospital, plusieurs supermarchés, banques et restaurants sont disponibles. Covas est située à environ 70 km à l’est de Coimbra, la plus belle et la plus ancienne ville universitaire. À partir de Coimbra, il y a une bonne connexion ferroviaire vers Porto et Lisbonne.
